From the Search Committee: Update #2

November 22, 2024

Dear Members of the Bridgeview Montessori Community,

We are excited to report that the committee continues to make progress in the search for our new Head of School.

Since our last update, the role has been posted globally through the National Association of Independent Schools, Montessori Schools of Massachusetts, Montessori.org, SchoolSpring, and countless others. The great news is that we have had significant interest from a large pool with diverse experiences. The initial filtering has begun and will continue as new submissions are rolling in, daily.  Phone screens for the first batch we reviewed are already underway.

We have modified our schedule slightly. Both in-person and virtual interviews will take place in January with community round tables likely taking place after the February vacation period (late February/early March).

As a reminder, in fairness to the search committee members and the Bridgeview staff, we ask that you direct any questions you have regarding the search process to the chair of the search committee, Peter Seward at pjseward@verizon.net. He will forward the questions and review with the rest of the committee.

Our next communication along with more information regarding the round-tables will be sent after our January interviews conclude.

Thank you,

The Bridgeview Montessori Head of School Search Committee

From the Search Committee: Update #1

October 8, 2024

Dear Members of the Bridgeview Montessori Community,

We wanted to provide a brief update on the Head of School search process.

Per the succession plan adopted by the Bridgeview Montessori Board of Trustees, a Head of School Search Committee has been established. The committee is made up of three Trustees, two Bridgeview faculty members and two parents of current Bridgeview students.

The Search Committee is as follows:

  • Board Of Trustees – Pete Seward, Ann Wolf, Tiffany Van Mooy

  • Faculty – Vanessa Ring, Kathleen Finucane

  • Parents – Alanna Barnes, Kelly Band

The committee will meet monthly and had its first meeting on 09/16/24. During that meeting the team aligned on a targeted schedule, updated the job description, and finalized the job posting media. During the October meeting the committee will determine the interview questions and scoring system.  During the November meeting the committee will review the applicants and align on the candidates to formally interview during the month of December.

The finalists are expected to be determined by the end of 2024, and we anticipate having parent, teacher, and faculty roundtables during the month of January. More information regarding these roundtables will be sent during the next search committee communication, after our November meeting.

In fairness to the search committee members and the Bridgeview faculty, we ask that you direct any questions you have regarding the search process to the chair of the search committee, Peter Seward at pjseward@verizon.net. He will forward the questions and review them with the rest of the committee.

Thank you,

The Bridgeview Montessori Head of School Search Committee
